1985 U-Haul CT13 Adventurer "Get-A-Way" they called it, fiberglass egg Camper. Just pulled back and camped in last weekend from a Historical Time @ a Great Hotrod show up north. Made of two fiberglass double-hulled (curve walled) halves on a heavy-duty steel tube frame made specially by UHaul Engineers. These trailers were developed by a U-Haul subsidiary called Rec-Vee World. The units were produced for only a short time in 1984 to 1985. Made strong, solid and sturdy, built to be rented in their Commercial market fleet by U-Haul. Built tough to withstand the abuses of rental use. They took the best parts of each design, from the most popular brands of the times from their Competitors. After buying one of each camper like Boler (now Scamp) and Casita. The UHaul Engineers combined the best attributes from each research camper into their CT13's & CT16's. About 2000 CT13's were made with estimates of about 1000 left in existence Worldwide. These U-Haul Trailers are designed to last. From top to bottom even the floor is made with fiberglass that encapsulates marine grade plywood, which means it can't be water damaged so no "soft" floors as most others will have. Weighs about 1,050 lbs so you can pull it with almost anything unless its a Yugo but maybe even then too. Unlike other egg campers, U-Haul connected heavy duty steel bumpers to their solid H.D. frame design intended for heavy duty use resulting in showing little wear or tear. Front tongue has a handle built in for easy manual maneuvering. Sleeps 2 in rear on the full size pop down bed that starts out as a U-shaped Dinette table. Another spot in front to sleep for one other person so in total sleeps three. Has a fauceted sink connected to a 15 gallon fresh water holding tank that pumps up water to the faucet or connect it to city water by hose that will then pressurize the sink faucet. Propane or electric cook top connected to the outside propane tank. Original UHaul inverter runs the low voltage systems and charges the on board battery when plugged into shore power. The battery will run the systems when unplugged out in the Wild while boondocking. All of the electrical works perfectly. A 3.0 series high power USB/12 volt outlet installed as well to charge all modern convenience's. The power control center (Inverter) controls the 120 AC and 12 volt DC power and converter from one location under the rear seats. Fantastic in/out fan/vent top center of roof is nice to have to suck out cooking air or blow back in fresh. The original owners name was Ms. Bea so we knicknamed her "U Little Bea" Bea is nimble. Bea can go anywhere. Camping in Bea is like being inside a cozy little pearl. It’s fantastic to have everything all ready to go whenever you want. Many long trips Up North camping in remote areas in very cold and very hot weather thanks to Bea. If you ever worked in the Restaurant business you will notice the hinges on the door looks very familiar, same heavy duty ones used on commercial walk in coolers and freezers. Front window rock shield opens up down from the outside. Spare tire on the rear. Quite a bit of storage. Nice overhead open shelves for dishes pots pans etc. 4 pin flat camper to the car hitch light wire and 2" hitch ball needed to attach and pull it. Clear Wisconsin Title plates stay on and transfer. Two old old gum spots stuck in the carpet, couple knicks and chinks on the outside. Took about fifty sixty pictures yesterday if anyone would like every pic possible inside and out also has a porta potty underneath seat/bed in front. Happy Camping.
